The worldwide threat from terrorism is about to increase, and the world political situation seems to worsen this trend. The continually increasing number of explosive attacks represents the great hazard potential through terrorist activity.

How do you analyse the existing hazard potential? What are the effects of terrorist attacks?
How do building structures behave when exposed to bomb blasts?
And how can people be protected from flying glass, which is responsible for causing over 80% of the severe and fatal injuries that result from explosions?

The HAVERKAMP congress: Explosions – Consequences and Protection”, does not only reflect the effects of attacks on people and buildings in theory, but also includes an outdoor trial at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing to demonstrate the force of a 100 kg TNT explosion and the effects of the blast wave on secured buildings.

For the 30th time the glas guilt association North Rhine Westphalia (Glasinunngsverand NRW) will meet for the experts' discussion days. The HAVERKAMP GmbH will cater the first day and will forward its know-how on film technology for the protection of glass facades and glass panes.

For six years the "IT-Security Day NRW" (IT-sicherheitstag NRW) is the central information and communication platform of North Rhine Westphalia concerning IT-security. This year's focus lies on the subject of protection of information for companies - even beyond the mere IT-aspects.

The specialist congress „New bullet resistance classes – innovative solutions 2009“ will take place form 16. to 17. September in Ulm. The current terrorism threat level as well as technical prevention possibilites for the protection against sniper and bomb attacks will be the main focus. Among others, Jörg Zierke, president of the Federal Criminal Police Office, will speak about the topic “Terrorism threat situation in Germany”. In addition to this, Elmar Theveßen, deputy chief editor of ZDF will explain the “International threat through terrorism”. Moreover, HAVERKAMP was able to win Albert Pantel (general manager of Union Stahl) and Rudolf Frieß (Beschussamt Ulm) for a lecture. Other known referees will complete the agenda. Apart from the lectures there will be live demonstrations and shooting tests on the agenda at the Beschussamt Ulm.
