Our contribution to a shared future

97 % of all glass windows, doors and walls are glazing without protective properties, but what does that mean for the environment?
Glass is the stylistic element of modern architecture, but its basic properties also have weak points that are only recognized later. In order to replace glass, it is produced, transported, replaced and disposed of in a costly and climate-damaging manner. Retrofittable HAVERKAMP film solutions are produced in a much more climate-neutral way and, depending on the product, have energy-saving properties.

Shaping the future today

"There are many different ways to act ecologically in the company. The important thing here is to adapt the measures to the orientation of the company and the employees. Because only together can we achieve something. As an innovative company, it is essential for HAVERKAMP to pay attention to climate and environment in all areas of the company. It starts with the little things that change the world."
- Ulrich Haverkamp, managing partner and founder of HAVERKAMP GmbH -

The retrofit solution with HAVERKAMP films is more climate neutral than glass replacement

The degree of melting in the production of glass is 6.6 times higher than in the production of PET. The energy difference is surprisingly high on the flat glass produced annually. In Germany alone, 1,971,408 tons of flat glass were produced in 2020. Not only the production, but also the transport of flat glass, is particularly harmful to the environment compared to film material due to its high weight. It is therefore worth considering efficient film material when upgrading existing glazing to avoid financially and emission-intensive glass replacement.

Recyclable PET material and biodegradable in the future?

All HAVERKAMP film solutions are made of high-quality PET material, which can be 100% recycled after use. Thus, the disposed film residues are fed back into the system as raw material in the cycle of plastic processing. The recycled PET raw material can then be used to produce films again, as well as textile fibers or plastic bottles. Looking to the future, HAVERKAMP is currently researching the production of film solutions consisting of compostable materials with comparable functionality and effectiveness to PET films.

HAVERKAMP company building

HAVERKAMP is constantly optimizing the company building with energy-saving measures in order to implement the future-oriented mission statement. In 2022, more than 100,000.00 € were invested to replace all illuminants in office buildings and production with energy-saving lamps - the consumption per lamp was reduced from 80 W to 5 W. The HAVERKAMP company building was equipped with products to save energy and costs in all seasons. HAVERKAMP energy saving films, tints for windows insulation and variable solar control systems reduce heating and air conditioning costs immediately and effectively!

4-day week at HAVERKAMP

With the introduction of the 4-day week, HAVERKAMP has taken an innovative step into the future and thus also sets new impulses. The additional day off is used by the employees to pursue leisure activities or to have more time for the family. Thus, in the ethical-social dimension of sustainability, the 4-day week offers real added value for the company and its employees. The shortened working day reduces HAVERKAMP's energy consumption by 20%, as work travel, heating costs, electricity consumption, water consumption, air conditioning costs and much more are saved by the extra day off!
