HAVERKAMP security films ensure that the glass maintains a high level of resistance in the event of an attack. HAVERKAMP PROFILON^® films are recognised as highly resistant – both in resisting burglary (up to P4A resistance against thrown objects) and in explosion protection (ER1).

HAVERKAMP's PROFILON^® ER1 security film can be shown to have saved the lives of many government officials in the devastating bomb attack in Oslo in 2011.

Mode of action

From a security perspective, despite all its benefits, glass generally represents a weak link in a building's security and integrity. It may be a hard material but it is also very brittle one, making it susceptible to break-ins, facade splintering, and airborne splinters in the event of explosion. However, HAVERKAMP has developed a solution that increases the stability of brittle glass materials by merging them with a flexible film system. This prevents dangerous glass splinters from becoming detached or glass from shattering in the frame.

Genesis

Over 40 years ago, HAVERKAMP invented the multi-ply security film together with Henk Glastra from the Netherlands. And it is still a leading product. HAVERKAMP security films significantly increases the resistance of glass in the event of an attack.
