OPALFILM® anti-shatter films protect against shattering in windows and glass surfaces of any kind. A shatter-protection film that protects against glass splintering and injuries caused by glass shards.

OPALFILM® Anti-shatter films

Conventional single or double-glazing offers no protection against laceration injury in the event of broken glass. There will always be a risk of injury when these types of glass are deployed in places where people are usually nearby. OPALFILM® anti-shatter films provide transparent protection against airborne glass splinters. In the event of breakage, the polyester film keeps the glass together, stabilising the glass panes or facades and protecting against airborne glass splinters. The high resistive force minimises the risk of injury to persons from sharp-edged glass shards, while at the same time protecting valuable property from damage.

The films are transparent, categorised according to DIN EN 12600, and between 115µ and 230µ thick in the standard version (greater thicknesses available on request). A further considerable advantage is that the film filters up to 99 percent of damaging UV radiation, and it can also be combined with such functions as sun protection, glare protection and privacy protection.

The film is particularly well suited for use with glass panels and facades as well as window surfaces in sensitive areas (such as public buildings, food production facilities according to the IFS standard, schools and kindergartens, as well as for through-doors). However, the film also offers optimum, retrofit protection for private households.
