HAVERKAMP wins the German OSPA Award 2025, the most important award in the security industry

HAVERKAMP security film for eavesdropping protection is “outstanding new security product 2025”

The innovative high-performance film PROFILON® Anti Spy | Laser Film from security specialist HAVERKAMP has been honored with the German Outstanding Security Performance Award (OSPA) 2025 as “outstanding new security product 2025.” This new development is a globally unique combination of eavesdropping and shielding protection for glass surfaces on building envelopes. The German OSPA is one of the most important awards in the security industry. It is presented in cooperation with the Federal Association for the Protection of Critical Infrastructures (BSKI) and supported by renowned organizations.

Glass surfaces on buildings are known to be one of the biggest security vulnerabilities. They are permeable to electromagnetic signals and provide an entry point for modern eavesdropping attacks using laser microphones. Due to the ever-growing threat of espionage,
sensitive areas such as military facilities, government agencies with confidentiality requirements, critical infrastructure companies, research laboratories, and IT centers are faced with the challenge of closing this security gap.

HAVERKAMP has now succeeded in developing a retrofittable security film that combines two highly specialized protective functions in one product: shielding protection against data theft to specifically block RF and IR radiation in the frequency range from 10 MHz to 40 GHz, plus integrated, innovative laser eavesdropping protection that prevents acoustic and optical eavesdropping attacks using state-of-the-art laser microphone technology.

Immediately effective, retrofittable spy protection without structural measures
Another advantage: the transparent high-performance film is installed quickly and without further structural measures by trained specialists. Whereas previously the growing number of digital and acoustic espionage attacks on politics, business, and research through glass surfaces could only be prevented by the costly installation of special glass, HAVERKAMP has now developed a solution with its new PROFILON® Anti Spy | Laser film that allows existing glass surfaces to be retrofitted without the need for structural changes.

“We wanted to develop a protection that is affordable and at the same time offers the best possible basic protection.”
“The development of the PROFILON® Anti Spy | Laser film is the result of decades of experience in the field of high-security films,” emphasizes Ulrich Haverkamp, founder and managing director of the company of the same name. “The market demand was clear. Critical infrastructures need a flexible, cost-effective retrofit solution that both reliably prevents the tapping of sensitive data from devices and blocks eavesdropping methods using lasers. This was conveyed to us repeatedly in numerous discussions.”

Based on an analysis of the latest espionage methods, HAVERKAMP then began working on the new high-performance film. “We pursued three specific goals,” Haverkamp continues. “We wanted to develop effective eavesdropping and shielding protection that could be installed without further structural measures. We wanted protection that was immediately ready for use and maintenance-free, and we wanted protection that was affordable while offering the best possible basic protection.”

German OSPA jury convinced – first projects successful
HAVERKAMP has now achieved these goals with its new security film. And that's not all: the company has not only closed a security gap that was previously considered unsolvable, but also convinced the German OSPA jury, which is made up of security specialists and experts from the security industry.

"This award means a lot to us. It is a valuable confirmation of our ongoing research and development work and recognition of the commitment of our entire team to protecting sensitive infrastructure in our democratic societies. Without their passion and dedication, this success would not have been possible," said Haverkamp.

The effectiveness of the film has already been confirmed by a top German federal authority and international tests. It has already proven its protective function in initial projects for a well-known automobile manufacturer and several political institutions.

Two security systems from HAVERKAMP nominated
The security experts were nominated for the German OSPA Award with two products. The AluGARD® fence system, which HAVERKAMP already uses to secure parts of Frankfurt Airport, among other places, also impressed the jury and was also on the list of finalists in the category “Outstanding New Security Product 2025.” By winning the German OSPA Award, HAVERKAMP and its new PROFILON® Anti Spy | Laser film are also directly nominated for the Global OSPA Award, which will be presented in early 2026.

The award-winning PROFILON® Anti Spy | Laser security film from manufacturer HAVERKAMP can be retrofitted quickly and cost-effectively without any additional structural measures or modifications.

Glass surfaces on buildings are known to be one of the biggest security vulnerabilities. They are permeable to electromagnetic signals and a gateway for modern eavesdropping attacks with laser microphones. Security expert HAVERKAMP has now developed a high-performance film that reliably prevents both and has been awarded the German OSPA.

With the award-winning PROFILON® Anti Spy | Laser security film, HAVERKAMP has developed a solution that combines two highly specialized protective functions in one product, thus closing a security gap that was previously considered unsolvable.

Ulrich Haverkamp, founder and managing partner of the company of the same name, sees the award of the German OSPA as a valuable confirmation of the continuous research and development work at HAVERKAMP and emphasized at the award ceremony that the OSPA is a great recognition of his team's commitment to the protection of sensitive infrastructures.
