Two HAVERKAMP Presentations Included in the Program on Future Topics in the Glass Industry
At this year’s glasstec, taking place October 20–23, 2026, in Düsseldorf, film specialist HAVERKAMP will also present its product developments. At booth 10H15 in Hall 10, the film manufacturer will showcase a wide range of high-quality sun protection, safety, and functional films. Experts will explain how installing these films on glass facades and in modern glass architecture can save energy and costs, reduce the load on air conditioning systems, and protect people.
The effectiveness of HAVERKAMP sun control films became clear during this year’s summer heat wave. Retrofitting with these films can be done quickly and efficiently. Once installed, the films immediately begin to have a positive effect on the indoor climate. They reduce heat gain through the glass by up to 80 percent, thereby noticeably lowering the room temperature—and, most importantly, doing so immediately and over the long term.
SmartGlass Films for Buildings and the Automotive Sector
During glastec, the film manufacturer is placing special emphasis on a range of switchable films under theClickFilm® brand, which are also the result of its own research and development. These films not only allow for individual adjustment of light transmission and privacy but also enable manual regulation of heat and glare.ClickFilm® films are available for retrofitting or for incorporation into laminated glass during manufacturing.
ClickFilm® Dynamic is a flat glass film whose transparency can be easily and continuously adjusted using ISPD technology (intelligent suspended particle device technology). The VLT of the slightly blue-tinted films can be controlled via an in-house developed transformer. The film is a tremendous boon for many living and working environments; the product has several advantages over the sun-protective glass that has been commonly used to date. HAVERKAMP also sees new options for vehicle glazing in the automotive sector.

The company’s product developments are generating widespread interest. Two of the company’s proposed presentations were included in the “glass trends sessions” conference program at glasstec, which will focus on trending topics and insights into the future of glass in Hall 10.
Smart Glass: Cross-Industry Film Technology
On the very first day of the trade show, October 20, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., founder and CEO Ulrich Haverkamp will speak about Smart Glass films as cross-industry film technologies for modern architecture and mobility. Switchable films, which change their physical state when an electrical current is applied, offer a wide range of applications in the fields of architecture and automotive—from use in the glass manufacturing process for buildings as interlayer films to use in panoramic glass roofs in the automotive sector.
Integrated premium bird protection in weather-resistant laminated film
On Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., Haverkamp will focus his second keynote presentation on a topic of particular importance for species conservation: bird protection. The specially developed films can also contribute to this effort. “Every year, millions of birds still collide with glass facades. This is a problem that continues to place a responsibility on planners, building owners, operators, and contractors,” says Haverkamp. “Many existing solutions are reaching their limits, particularly in terms of durability and reliability of performance. That’s where we came in.”
HAVERKAMP has launched a bird protection film that offers significantly more advantages in terms of durability, appearance, and reliability. The film features a very subtle, silver-reflective dot pattern that meets the growing customer demand for greater transparency and a less conspicuous appearance. At the same time, it retains the highly effective protection against bird strikes offered by previous bird protection films. The film itself is transparent; the laminated dots each have a diameter of just 9 millimeters.
Dot Pattern Significantly More Reliable Thanks to Lamination into the Film Composite
The real innovation lies in the film laminate itself. Unlike competitors who apply the pattern to the outside of the window film as the final step of installation, HAVERKAMP has fully integrated the dot pattern into its new multi-layeredbirdsafe® bird-protection film. The enormous advantage: The pattern is weather- and UV-resistant, and the film itself features integrated shatter protection—another decisive advantage for building glass facades.
The innovative film solutions, which HAVERKAMP produces at its three facilities in Münster, will be on display in Hall 10, Booth 10H15.
