HAVERKAMP offers bird protection with effective film technology

The innovative HAVERKAMP "birdsafe®" film was by far the best protective measure in the flight tunnel test, better than any glass or film solution.

Several million birds die every year in Germany alone as a result of bird strikes. Glass plates on buildings are not perceived as an obstacle by birds, which leads to fatal collisions. HAVERKAMP has set itself the task of solving this problem and has developed a bird protection film in close cooperation with specialists. It is available both for glass manufacturers as an interlayer film and for retrofitting existing glazing. Areas of application include glass façades, window fronts, bus shelters, vestibules and noise barriers.

Thanks to the specially developed diamond pattern, the HAVERKAMP birdsafe® has proven to be highly effective in tests and in practice. The sample is applied to the transparent film using a special printing process. The film is neutral-transparent, maintenance-free and easy to process. It is available in various designs.

The test report from the Hohenau-Ringelsdorf Biological Station in Austria confirms the effectiveness of HAVERKAMP birdsafe®. In 90 test flights with various bird species, an impressive 97% of the birds were able to recognize and fly around the test pane coated with the bird protection film in good time. This means that the Haverkamp film has the best value of all bird protection films and bird protection glass tested to date, and thus ranks #1.

The bird protection film from HAVERKAMP is already being used successfully on various buildings with large-format glass surfaces to prevent bird strikes. With this innovative solution, HAVERKAMP is making an important contribution to the preservation of bird life and setting new standards in the field of bird protection.

"The bird protection film from HAVERKAMP achieves exactly the effect we were hoping for. Since the film has been fitted to the pane, the birds have literally slowed down in front of it," reports Andreas Regner from the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve, where the film has already been installed.

HAVERKAMP focuses not only on functionality, but also on aesthetics. The birdsafe® film not only offers optimal protection for birds, but is also an attractive design option for building facades.

"With our bird protection film, we not only want to save the lives of birds, but also make a statement. Architecture and nature conservation can go hand in hand," explains Ulrich Haverkamp, Managing Partner at HAVERKAMP.

As a manufacturer, HAVERKAMP is able to equip the film with other functions in addition to its excellent bird protection properties and integrated UV protection. For example, with sun and/or anti-shatter protection.
