Security fence in Munich

Project report HAVERKAMP AluGuard

Alarm security fence at Munich Airport

The project

Munich Airport is Germany's second-largest airport and is one of the ten busiest and busiest aviation hubs in Europe. In 2019, around 131,000 passengers used the airport daily to reach 187 destinations in 55 countries. The high passenger volume means an enormous responsibility for the airport's operators, Flughafen München GmbH. In order to effectively secure a newly emerging area in the security zone, which is adjacent to a transit building as well as a logistics center, among other things, the airport's managers looked for experts who could offer a fully comprehensive and reliable solution.

The requirement

The specific order was for the installation of a security fence with active breakthrough and climb-over detection systems that impress with their reliability and very low false alarm rate. At the same time, the fence was to be visually adapted to the functional structure and modern design of the airport.

The solution

HAVERKAMP AluGARD®, the world's first high-performance alarm fence made entirely of aluminum and extremely reliable sensor technology. The light metal aluminum has two decisive advantages: durability and low weight. In any weather conditions, it detects without gaps and is free of unwanted alarms. The rustproof security fence is also sabotage-proof and suitable for almost any alarm management system. Pierre Baude, Head of Aviation Security at Flughafen München GmbH, is satisfied with the system: "The HAVERKAMP AluGARD® fencing system protects our premises faultlessly and reliably. We thank you for the fast and smooth implementation."
